ACT (NATIONAL)
This ACT used for admission to post-secondary educational institutions. The ACT is only held once per quarter, so be sure to check the test dates before you register to take the test.
ACT On-Campus
ACT On-Campus testing is only offered to students who have officially applied, been admitted, or have enrolled for courses at UT, and were unable to take the test at one of the scheduled quarterly dates. An ACT or SAT score is required to be eligible for academic scholarships at UT. The Testing Center offers the ACT On-Campus Exam by appointment only (photo ID required).
Please note: the ACT On-Campus scores do not meet NCAA Requirements. A tester must wait 60 days to retake the ACT On-Campus for a new score.

ACCUPLACER Placement Test
Students must take an Accuplacer test if their ACT or SAT scores for the English or Reading section did not meet the minimum score to enroll in the course. You can visit our Placement Requirements page for more information on scores.

ALEKS PPL Math Placement Test
UT uses a program named ALEKS for helping students get caught up on math and for placement into math courses. Students must take an ALEKS test if their ACT or SAT score for Math did not meet the minimum score to enroll in a course. You can visit our Placement Requirements page for more information on scores. The ALEKS includes a built-in diagnostic feature to pinpoint areas of math strength and weakness. ALEKS software creates custom lessons based on the results of the diagnostic feature. Guided tutorials help students learn math at their own pace and from the location of their choice. Most students can expect to skip at least one course after reviewing with ALEKS. Students can use their UT sign-on credentials to sign up for ALEKS here.
Test Cost
A 12-month ALEKS access fee costs $16 and includes diagnostic testing, structured remediation content, and practice content. When you are ready you can pay $10.00 to take a proctored version of the exam at the Testing Center for course placement.
BYU FLATS
This test provides students the opportunity to receive up to 12 semester hours of University credit by examination. Click here for more information and to register for the test.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
A CLEP exam offers college credit to students if subject proficiency is demonstrated on the CLEP exam. A student will receive ungraded course credit, which may fulfill general education requirements or provide elective credits. The earned credit is posted to the student’s transcript when CLEP test results are submitted to the Registrar’s Office with a receipt from the Cashier’s Office for the posting fee.
Please note: CLEP exam credit cannot be accepted if the student has ever received a grade in that course (including a ‘W’).

This test is used for nationally certifying airman at different competencies.

FCC tests are taken to obtain various licenses for radio applications.

HESI A2
Students who want to be admitted to the Utah Tech University Nursing program must take this test and include their results in their application.

LAW SCHOOL ADMISSIONS TEST (LSAT)

MELAB

MILLER ANALOGIES TEST (MAT)
The MAT test is used for admission to certain graduate programs in lieu of the GRE. The test consists of 120 objective analogies. You can visit the Pearson Assessments homepage for more information.

PARAPRO
The Parapro Assessment is a test for individuals who want to work as a Teacher’s Aid or Substitute Teacher to take if they have not earned an Associate of Arts degree or at least 2 years of college.

PHARMACY COLLEGE ADMISSION TEST (PCAT)
The PCAT test is used for admission to pharmacy schools. The tests consist of 5 objective sections, 35 minutes each.

POLICE OFFICER STANDARDS & TRAINING (POST)
The POST measures critical learning skills necessary to perform successfully in an entry-level Police Officer Position. You can take this test at the professional testing center by appointment only.

This test is used for admission to post-secondary educational institutions. The 4-hour test contains 10 separately timed sessions that may appear in any order.

TEST OF ESSENTIAL ACADEMIC SKILLS (TEAS)
This assessment is for non-Utah Tech University Nursing students only. This 4-part assessment consists of subtests in Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English (in that order only) with a total testing time of 3 hours and 29 minutes. Available at the professional center during hours of operation.
